
Tuber Macrosporum Vitt. (smooth black truffle)
Tuber Macrosporum Vitt. commonly called smooth black truffle, inferior to the Tuber Melanosporum Vitt. and at this present time there is no legislature in effect, however, by law the two should be sold separately. It’s prepared by cutting it into very thin slices and ground observing the particle size or grade. Often used in the production of sauces and pates, of which our company does not promote. Extra virgin olive oil is used as a base along with this type of truffle for many recipes, from meat and wild game, to desserts and cakes, to fresh pasta, vegetables, fish, cereals, eggs, omelets, cheese, honey and saffron.
